Frequently asked
When is merging useful?
Combining a multi-part lecture series, joining a video that was split into chapters, or stitching together stream highlights with their separate caption files. Anything where you have multiple SRT files for what should be one continuous video.
How are timecodes handled?
Each subsequent file's timecodes are offset by the previous file's end time, plus the gap you specify. So if file 1 ends at 10:00 and gap is 5 seconds, file 2 starts at 10:05.
Why would I want a gap?
If your videos have a few seconds of silence or transition between segments. Set 0 if the segments flow directly into each other.
Can I reorder the files?
Yes — drag the row by the ☰ handle or click the × to remove. The merge order is the list order.
What about VTT?
VTT inputs are accepted. The output is always SRT (the most universal format). If you need VTT output, run the merged file through our SRT converter afterward.
